Staffordshire Local Planning Authorities, including County Council, have joined forces to produce a standardised template for Section 106 agreements throughout Staffordshire with regard to development applications to Staffordshire County or District Councils. Planning obligations under section 106 of the Planning Act 1990 (as amended), commonly referred to as section 106 agreements, are a mechanism that makes a development proposal acceptable in terms of planning that would otherwise not be acceptable. They focus on mitigating the impact of development on the site. S106 agreements are often referred to as “developer contributions”. Requests for copies of the agreements in accordance with ยง 106 can be made online via our web portal. Please note that this service incurs an administration fee, which can take approximately 7-10 business days. At present, the Council has not introduced a Community infrastructure tax (ITC). The Council plans to examine by the end of March 2015 whether or not to develop the CIL.
