Australian Passport Office Enterprise Agreement

In one of the largest Microsoft CRM implementations for a federal agency, Fujitsu won this coveted eight-year contract thanks to its expertise in managed services and its ability to integrate a Microsoft stack that aligns with DFAT`s business orientation. The PRP will introduce a number of new services and streamline passport application processes using Microsoft CRM workflows for mass scanning, case management, fraud control, workflow, and passport printing solutions. The value to DFAT employees and the Australian public when implementing a Microsoft enterprise solution is universal familiarity with its user interface and features. Over the next three years, the Passport Redevelopment Program will replace the current Australian passport printing and issuance technology, which is rapidly approaching the end of its capacity. Fujitsu announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to provide a comprehensive Australian passport issuance system under the department`s Passport Renewal Program (PRP). Tuan Dao, Chief Information Officer at DFAT, said: “DFAT is committed to continuously improving its processes and services. The program will provide a modern passport system for Australia that will be more secure, efficient and responsive. With the growing demand for passports from Australians and a forecast of up to two million passport applications per year by 2015, the new system will enable the Australian Passport Office to meet the service level obligations of its charter.
